Fósseis de luz... \ Light fossils...

It was with an image simple and fairly minimalist, that the idea of creating a project about the natural heritage of  Serra da Freita, consolidated and deepened roots in our souls, in Petronilho's and mine. After a first visit without any ulterior purpose in  2008 May, when I done this "Ovelhar" , we decided together, to do what we first called a 'Photographic Essay on the Natural Heritage of Serra da Freita. "

It was in Poço da Cruz in 2008 June, that we thought that the work would have a division into four chapters, namely the 4 seasons. Inspired by Vivaldi with its magnificent "4 Stagioni" and the prose of Soeiro Gomes in "Esteiros", we divided the project and all the work based on this simple premise; to follow the seasonality of the mountain. We commit ourselves to follow this idea and create a work that was poetic and somehow a narrative of the lives of the  creatures of the mountain, of plants and animals that live on this mountain ...

So it was decided, even before knowing if we would publish a book, having an exhibition or even a blog that every month during the two years that were initially set as the deadline for the fieldwork, that would visit the Serra at least 2 times per month.

The fieldwork of what in January 2009 would be the "The Enchanted Mountain", started on 12/08/2008, the first image of this publication was one of the initials to be made in the long journey of four years that followed. .. I will call it "Into to Serra's moods!"

During the next days I will post more pictures of this piece of my life, this part of my time, this idea that made me grow and to love more this world that is ours ...
